Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

Inades Burkina is a national association established in 1995 by men and women working in rural areas who understood the need for rural self-empowerment and the crucial role of training for successful development. It is affiliated with Inades-Formation International, based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire and is connected to nine other country offices in West and Central Africa. It envisions a prosperous and influential rural world, and supports rural populations to promote family farming and increased access to technical information, good-quality seeds and markets. It encourages rural people to take ownership of the decentralization process and become more involved in the management of local public affairs as well as to advocate for policies in their favor. Inades Burkina supports the production of booklets in simple French and local languages to help literate rural populations maintain their level of education while learning production techniques.
