Founded in 1983, Grassroots International works around the world to help small farmers and producers, indigenous peoples and women win resource rights: the human rights to land, water and food. Grassroots International works with activists, allies, and donors to support community-led initiatives and movements worldwide through strategic grantmaking and advocacy.

This grant supports Grassroots International to build a movement for food sovereignty in West Africa by contributing to the Fund to Advance Resource Rights in West Africa. The grant supports the Fund in particular to strengthen and expand the We Are the Solution campaign through awareness raising and knowledge exchange on agroecology among family farmers and rural women’s associations in West Africa.
