New African Research Developent Agency (NARDA)

NARDA was established in 1987 as an umbrella network. It provides technical support to Liberian NGOs and their partners to promote the self-reliance, community ownership, and institutional sustainability necessary for social change. NARDA’s mission is to strengthen the capacity of its members to implement programs that are important to the Liberian people. NARDA is committed to developing accountable, sustainable and transparent member organizations that partner with communities and donors with a shared goal of poverty reduction, especially for women and young people.

This grant expands lending among nine rural women’s groups so that they can diversify their livelihood opportunities and strengthen their social and financial safety.

This grant enables at least nine rural women’s groups to access and manage information and financial resources in order to strengthen their agency and improve the livelihoods of their members.
2011$65,0001 year
With this grant, NARDA provides support for farming and functional literacy training to rural women in Lofa County, Liberia. Additionally, NARDA provides administrative, financial, and technical training to six rural women’s groups.
